Ep 35: Tax Deductions You Won’t Believe

Last year, a New York City man was arrested for trying to deduct $3.00 he spent on a cup of coffee. The IRS does not allow you to deduct a cup of coffee, a newspaper or the expense of going to the movies. But it does permit you to deduct the cost of a movie ticket if the purpose of the trip is to see a work of art or a play, or if you are visiting a sick relative.
Here are some other deductions that the IRS has approved as well as some that they disallowed.
